Once upon a time, there were 5 little saltwater only LFS’s in the Denver Metro range. Let’s check in on them and see how things are going.

First on the list up North is Biggs Lagoon. All is well with a Homeless Sweater and Blanket collection, a special deal on a desk top 11 gallon setup, and a cute Christmas tree. They have all the usual corals and fish to start or finish that salty tank you’re ready for.

Next is Elite Reef nestled right off I-25 and I-76, and they are set for the season. This is an all you’ll ever need for a saltwater tank type store. See my blogs for pics and more. Elite is the perfect name for this LFS.

Liquid Kingdom continues to supply the market up Bloomfield way. They are the place to be if you’re in Boulder county or northwest Denver. I would say it is even worth the drive for folks further away. This store has been around a long time and their tanks are mature, which I absolutely love. Check out the pics in my previous blogs on this LFS for an idea of all they have to offer. I hear they even have new products to offer these days. They have been growing out their corals collection too.

Fin’s Up Reef Co. would be next on the tour down south of town off W. Bowles and Lowell. This place is a bit new to the scene, and they have it goin’ on. If you’ve not been here, do yourself a favor and check them out. They are open on the weekends, Friday – Sunday. Once again I have a blog feature on this wonderful Salty LFS.

Just down the road off I-470 and Santa Fe is the daddy of all Salty LFS’s, Aquatic Art Inc.. This is a serious Saltwater LFS with top notch corals and hard to find fish. I have to say, this is the best Salty LFS in state and this is a very tight race. There are wonderful Salt only LFS’s in the Springs and Fort. Frankly, I was shocked when I first started exploring the LFS scene in Colorado, so many great Saltwater only LFS’s. If this is not your first stop on the Salty LFS road it certainly should be your last.

Forgive my sparse in person blogs this year. I just visited Biggs Lagoon and they really are doing well, though they were down on stock after the Black Friday weekend. All the LFS’s on this list are excellent Saltwater only fish stores. There are lots of choices with coral and saltwater fish around the state. This list a great place to start. Also check out the Every LFS in Colorado list.
