It’s been over 6 months since I featured MC Aquatics, so let me review the changes and such with this large LFS in SE Denver Metro. The store is located at 11800 Oswego St Unit D60, Englewood, CO 80112. The hours are 10-6 every day of the week. Not much has changed on the outside or as you enter the store. The selection of tanks and equipment seems a bit sparser, yet the shelves are full. Lenny’s tank (the store mascot, a large Mbu Pufferfish) is doing well and the tank looks great.

Upon moving into the freshwater room, they have a new stack of two large paludariums with tropical plants available for any build that uses plants above water, especially with their roots in the water. See my pics below for a better idea of what I am talking about. The aquatic plant racking system is full and beautiful as usual. They have replaced the small tanks behind this with a large display tank. The Betta wall is looking sad, so much so I did not even take a photo of it. Across from this is the cichlid area and one column of tanks is empty, but the others look good with nice looking fish within. The wall of nanofish and younger fish has not changed. See my pics for an idea of their pricing, which I must say is quite competitive compared to what it was when they first opened.

The saltwater room is growing out nicely with a wide selection of corals. The fish selection is sparse, though they do seem to have plenty of inverts. This LFS strives to be an all in one aquarium store with both saltwater and fresh with even some brackish at times. I’ve seen mudpuppies, monos, and eyespot pufferfish in the past. My point here is simply they do a good job of offering something for everyone’s aquatic animal needs. So if you’ve not been here in a while, drop in and see what they have. The other area of business they have been focusing on lately is in home maintenance and installations market. From what I understand this has been booming of late and they are looking for staff to help in this area, among other duties around the store. So in conclusion, while MC Aquatics is not my first choice in LFS to shop at, they do remain a good viable option, especially for those living on the south and east parts of the Denver Metro or even the northern Springs areas.
