Golden Fish Retires

Golden Fish in Lakewood is off Colfax Blvd.   As a direct quote from Facebook, Julie - the owner; “After over 42 years, I have decided that I will retire to enjoy my life. Everything in the store is for sale lots of free tanks come and see me”. Well I did just that. The sign behind the front desk says 25% off everything. So I looked in every tank in the store and found 2 plecos to take home for a great price. The selection is dwindling fast, so get over there sooner rather than later. Her cichlids are looking really good! Some tanks have large numbers of fish like the green tiger barbs. Others only had one fish like the two tanks I emptied with my purchases. She will be taking her time and liquidating things as she can. I would say everything will be gone in 6wks or so, but that is just a guess. Golden Fish specializes in Cichlids and Goldfish. There are no photos below because I have taken many over the years, so look back at those previous blogs to get an idea of what there is to offer.

One whole wall of tanks is dedicated to cichlids, and this is not all. They have Goldfish in the backroom and on the wall opposite of the cichlids. I’m not sure why I was surprised to see them. There always seems to be a fish to jump out to your eye no matter how many times you’ve been in the store. As I have said before, Golden Fish is in the top 3 LFS for cichlids and we will be sad to see her go. I wish her all the best on her retirement travels! Life is Good. My retirement certainly has been enjoyable so far. Keep an eye out for the next blog and if you know of any changes in the marketplace, please let me know.
