Aqua Culture, 10336 Dransfeldt Rd UNIT 8, Parker, CO 80134, will be closing its door to the public beginning in July. They will be by appointment only, so they are not closing permanently. (Google maps lists them open 12-6, M-F because they offer no other option to the owner, so please call first and set an appointment.) The maintenance and installation side of the business is being handed off to those who specialize in this, while the physical store will remain as a fishroom for the owner, Tariq. He is going to enjoy the hobby as a hobbyist for a change.

If you’ve not been to his LFS, then it is worth dropping by to see the large 500g in the lobby and the 14k tank in the back. Currently they have freshwater in those tanks. They also have some nice coral tanks and saltwater setups. The idea of a aquarist’s members only club has been floated so the loyal customers in the Parker area will have a place to go for basic supplies like live food, inverts, nutrients, etc. They will be mainly saltwater oriented. Corals are Tariq’s main passion, so there will continue to be farming going on.

MC Aquatics is just down Lincoln Ave. five miles so anyone who wants supplies, foods, fish or some plants has a good resource there. Nature Box Pet Emporium is nine miles up Parker Rd. so there are plenty of options for aquarists in the area. Be sure to follow the Aqua Culture Facebook page for developments down the road. And, if you’ve not seen the store, make an appointment by calling ahead.
